Hello! My name is Jacquelyn. Most people call me Jacki. I am a twenty-five year old single Mom to four children. I have been Walking with the Lord for two years now and these two years have been such a blessing. My life has changed so much.
I currently live in PA with my two youngest children, but will soon be moving back to SC, where I was raised, to reunite with my oldest two children who currently live with their Dad. (Stay tuned for lots of posts about that!)
Recently, I have fallen in love (all over again) with my Life’s biggest blessing of being a Mommy. My youngest child, Preston Joseph, has renewed a joy in me that for many years was buried deep, deep down in the bottom of my being. There are a few other times in my life that I remember being happy, but not one of them compare to how happy I am now. I have faith that my happiness will continue to grow as I obey God’s will for my life.
The oldest of my four children was born three days after my seventeenth birthday on August 1, 2001. A boy. My labor was a total of 42 hours of painful contractions and finally he came into the world weighing a hefty 8 lbs. 9oz.
My second child, a girl, was born on October 18, 2003. I delivered my princess without an epidural and I honestly thought I was going to DIE. My princess weighed in at 8lbs. 3oz.
I had another baby girl on February 21, 2006. I drove myself to the hospital and again, no epidural. (not by choice) Only this time, it wasn’t nearly as painful. She weighed in at 7lbs. 11oz.
My newest bundle of joy was born on November 12, 2009 at 7lbs. 10oz. I did have an epidural that time and I really regretted it. Every side effect that the doctor said was possible, I believe I experienced, but what’s done is done and that’s that.
I have two brothers and one sister who are all married. They all have children too!! I am Aunt Jacki to one niece and four nephews!
My parents divorced when I was nine and I was raised mostly by my Mom who is a super amazing, intelligent woman who I have learned so much from. (even though I am still realizing just how much she really taught me!) Yes!! I was her trouble child. Maybe I still am. Well, I hope not in a current kind of way!! She is “Grammie” to all of the grandchildren in our family. A wonderful Grammie to them she is! My Father is retired from the Navy and I am a Daddy’s girl. Always have been and I am sure I always will be! All of the grandchildren call him “Pops”. He is an awesome “Pops”.
This About Me would not be complete if I did not give credit where credit is due and mention someone who has totally been a God sent person in my life who I will for now name M. She is an angel on Earth and I would NOT be who I am today if I had been willing to open myself up to her love. She has been a mother, a teacher, a friend, a sister, and the light of truth. Now I know that this was all in His great plan for me… to know her is to know the true definition of Love. (with permission there will be a future post on this profound, influential person in my life!)
I currently work for a corporate restaurant as a bartender/server. It’s definitely not my “dream job” but I do have a passion for it and really (most days) I enjoy going to work. It pays well and I get a lot of gratitude doing what I do!
I am planning to return to college in the near future. I have been planning to go to nursing school and become a labor and delivery nurse (with bigger dreams of one day becoming a midwife and birthing babies in my own birth center or at home births) but recently I feel that I am being led in a different direction. A direction like business management. So God willing I will be updating on that in future posts!
As for now I am focused on The Lord’s Will for my life and my children. I am so excited for each new thing and so happy to be sharing them here!
Here’s to Happy Reading!
Be Blessed, Jacki
